Maternal mortality is a key indicator of a country’s health and socioeconomic development.

The U.S. is way behind.

Knowledge is

Safety. Power. Prevention.

Knowledge has been identified as a major contributing factor in preventable pregnancy-related deaths.

84% of these deaths are preventable.

Maternal mortality in the United States far outweighs other industrialized nations and is growing. The risk is 3x greater for Black and Native American women. In 2022, 5% of U.S. counties had less maternity care access then in 2020, and U.S. infant mortality jumped for the 1st time in 20 years.

Among the underlying factors: 20% of pregnant individuals have inadequate health literacy. 45% of moms hold back questions and concerns from their providers. Race, ethnicity, insurance, and education all impact morbidities, mortality, and risk.

Proven to build care & confidence

we can do better. Together.

Indicate Health’s digital care program delivers essential, holistic information directly to birthing people throughout pregnancy, postpartum, and early childhood. Moms learn what to expect at every appointment, what symptoms and warning signs to pay attention to, when to call their doctor, and self-advocacy and confidence-building skills.

As birthing people interact with the messaging, our program generates population access and real-world evidence to advance maternal-child health – filters and insights that enhance existing solutions, drive critical research, and interrupt adverse outcomes.

Using the program, birthing people report:

  • 84% take better care of themselves

  • 91% take better care of their children

  • 86% are more confident to manage their care

The program also has increased impact for ethnic and racial minorities.

Together, we can make a difference for all birthing people and build a better future.

Proven to overcome disparities

  • “Increasing patient knowledge around warning signs and when to seek care is critical to preventing unnecessary maternal and infant mortality. This digital outreach is helping us to fluidly educate our population, form strong patient partnerships, and activate patients, including those who have historically been least accessible and may need our care the most.”

Vice President of Community and Behavioral Health, Dayton Children’s Hospital

  • "The program is especially helpful and impactful for ethnic and racial minorities. Hispanic and non-white respondents were especially likely to find the emails helpful, report the emails help them take better care of themselves, use the links to access programs and information, suggest the information presented was new to them, and indicate the emails increased their sense of connection. Strategies like this show promise to reduce disparities."

Deloitte Consulting & Zogby International, FINAL REPORT: TRICARE Management Activity Expectant and New Parents Survey

  • “Patients feel lost, vulnerable, and alone during pregnancy. Pregnancy and childrearing is one of the highlights of adult life, but the developmental, transitional crisis associated with becoming parents can be overwhelming. Reliable education and regular communications can support them in ways we never dreamed possible and make a difference for them, right now."
